Easy way to use coconut in your diet
Many books and articles are being written on the health benefits of coconuts. They've been the staple of tropical diets for thousands of years. One easy way to eat coconuts is to buy frozen coconut meat, available at most asian supermarkets and many regular supermarkets as well. Thaw it at home, cut into serving sizes, package in a sandwich bag and put it back in the refrigerator. Coconuts can be added to shakes, pancake mixes, fruit salads, use your imagination and enjoy the health benefits. Grated coconut generally has a higher oil content, while young coconut generally has more water and fat. Coconut oil and fat are healthy in the proper amount. Fat is the most readily available source of energy you consume. Eat too much, and your body saves it for later use, AKA you gain weight and store fat. Eat the proper amount, and your energy and activity levels rise and your diet is balanced. Add to your taste, a quarter cup will give you a days worth of coconut benefits!
